Junk removal, without the runaround

Tell us what needs to go. We connect you with insured local hauling contractors who quote you directly — no markup, no platform fee, no waiting on callbacks.

The Detail

How this actually works

Junk removal pricing comes down to three things: how much space your stuff takes up in the truck, how heavy it is, and what the landfill or recycler charges to take it. That is why a single mattress and a truckload of roof shingles are priced nothing alike even though both are one trip.

The part most people underestimate is access. A second-floor apartment with no elevator, a gated alley, or a backyard hot tub behind a 32-inch gate all change how long the job takes and how many people it needs. When you send a request, describe the access honestly and add a photo — the contractor who calls you can then quote you accurately the first time instead of adjusting the price on your driveway.

Sending a request costs nothing and there is no obligation. You will hear from a contractor with their price, and if it does not work for you, you simply do not book it.

What we take

  • Couches, mattresses, dressers and other furniture
  • Refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves and water heaters
  • TVs, monitors and general electronics
  • Garage, attic, shed and closet cleanouts
  • Yard waste, branches, sod, fence panels and old decking
  • Remodel and construction debris, drywall, tile and lumber
  • Hot tubs, sheds, swing sets and above-ground pools (dismantled)
  • Exercise equipment, pianos and safes (with the right crew)

What we cannot take

  • Paint, solvents, oil, fuel and other hazardous liquids
  • Asbestos, lead paint and contaminated material
  • Medical, biohazard and sharps waste
  • Ammunition, explosives and pressurized tanks
  • Household goods moving — that requires a TxDMV licence we do not hold or refer

FAQ

Common questions

How is junk removal priced?

By volume, weight and material type. Bulky-but-light loads are priced on the space they take in the truck; heavy material like concrete, tile or shingles is priced closer to weight because of disposal fees. The independent contractor who does the work sets the price, not WeTakeIt.

Do I have to be home?

Usually not, as long as the items are accessible and you have agreed the price and the payment method with the contractor in advance. Curbside and side-yard pickups are common.

Do I need to move everything outside first?

No. Most contractors will carry items out from inside the house, garage or backyard. Mention it when you send your request so they bring enough hands.

What happens to the stuff?

Reusable furniture and appliances often go to donation or resale, metal goes to scrap, and the rest goes to a licensed transfer station or landfill. Disposal is handled by the contractor under their own accounts.

Is there a charge to get quotes?

No. WeTakeIt is free for customers. Partner contractors pay us a flat monthly fee for access to requests, which means nothing is added on top of the price you are quoted.

How fast can someone come out?

Same-day and next-day are common across the metro, depending on who has an opening in your area. Morning requests have the best odds of same-day service.
